TUVPN’s New VPN Protocol: SSH2 Tunnels deployment completed!

TUVPN News Add comments

As we reported some time ago, we have been busy last weeks deploying a new VPN protocol throughout our network.

It is SSH2 Tunnels, and as explained in the previous post it will offer extreme flexibility to our users and perfectly complement all our other VPN protocols. Moreover you will not find many other VPN providers offering this kind of technology!.

Please refer to our VPN Protocols Comparison Table to get an overview of your choices and make an informed decision about which is best for you.

As usual with TUVPN, this new VPN protocol is immediately available to all our users at no extra cost.

By now we have published tutorials about how to setup and use SSH2 Tunnels for Windows 7 and Ubuntu, more will follow for other operating systems and platforms.

Please let us know any question or comment here, on our forums or via our support page.

Thanks for this guys – it serves my purpose a lot better than OpenVPN + it is a lot easier to use.
With this, I can use VPN only for browsing the web, and keep my normal connection for file servers and other purposes. Just what I need. I can even choose to not use the tunnel on certain websites by setting up exceptions in my browser – very useful.

For your information: the setup for Windows 7 works for Vista too. You can put that on the “how-to” page.
In the setup instructions, you might want to emaphazize that the network setup should be EXACTLY like this picture http://www.tuvpn.com/uploads/windows7_ssh2_standalone_application_step7.jpg
I think it might help some if you clarified that the exceptions list (“No proxy for”) should look exactly like in the picture.

    Hi John,

The “No proxy for” section content is up to the user. Here you can put anything that you want NOT to go over the SSH Tunnel (i.e. local networks as in your screen shot).
